For Le Mans, the Martini-Porsche factory team entered their championship car, the 935/77 version. Engineer Norbert Singer had modified the aerodynamics and reduced more weight. The single turbo was replaced by two smaller KKK turbos that reduced throttle lag and boosted power slightly, to 630 horsepower. This caused the car to travel at 323 km/h (201 mph) on the Mulsanne Straight.
